Devil's Den or the Lucius Pond Ordway Preserve is run by the
Nature Conservancy, and is the town's prize piece of open space consisting of
1720 acres. Scientists use the deciduous forest to study worm-eating warblers,
while hikers and cross-country skiers enjoy use of 20 miles of trails. In 1953
Weston's zoning laws defining a two-acre, no industry and no multi-family
dwelling set the standard for the town. The maintenance and acquisition of open
land space is a priority. This means that Weston will long be heir to a
spacious, outdoor inheritance.
